Emergency Management

Aim: To set up processes of emergency evidence, supervision and drawing conclusions, incl. organisation framework and employee motivation. To minimise the risk of making the same mistake again, to motivate workers to report emergencies. This should result in higher safety for patients, better prevention and control of emergencies and undesirable incidents in health care. Our offer may include developing and implementing a method for detecting and assessing emergencies and mistakes.

Topics for Training and Consultations:

  • Consultation about processes in a given health care centre, ward, hospital.
  • Communicating key issues (non-repressive towards the reporting worker, reporting emergencies as everyone’s duty, failure as opportunity for change, not repression etc.).
  • Mapping emergencies occurring in a given health care centre (nature, frequency, existing methods of coping).
  • Setting up processes of reporting an emergency.
  • Setting up processes of handling and assessing an emergency.
  • Creating procedures aiming at minimising emergencies and implementing them.
  • Setting up a feedback process for continuous assessment of emergencies, methods of their detection, solutions and prevention of emergencies, incl. supervision of each process.
  • All the above-mentioned steps should be carried out with active participation of the concerned workers, to help them identify with the new system and motivate them to respect it.
